Buongusto: A Story of Tradition, Passion, and the Love for Real Italian Food

My story begins in Pescara, a charming coastal town where the rhythm of life is marked by the scent of the sea, the warmth of the sun, and the irresistible aroma of homemade food. I was born there in 1990, the second of four boys, in a family where food was never just about nourishment—it was about tradition, love, and bringing people together.

My grandparents owned a restaurant on the beach, a place where families gathered to share good food and joyful moments. My father worked there until it closed in 1975, and although his path led him elsewhere, his passion for cooking never faded. He turned our home into a place of culinary discovery, where meals weren’t just prepared—they were crafted with care, skill, and a deep respect for tradition. Some nights, he would host exclusive dinners in a beautiful villa overlooking the hills of Pescara, where the lucky guests would savor the essence of true Italian cuisine.

My mother, a dedicated nurse, carried her own culinary heritage. She inherited a love for food from her family, especially for sweets, and every Sunday, our home became a small Italian feast. Freshly made pasta, rich and creamy homemade desserts, and perfectly churned gelato were the heart of our family gatherings. Those Sundays weren’t just about food—they were a celebration of family, tradition, and the joy of sharing something truly special.

This passion for handmade, authentic Italian food became part of me. I grew up knowing that great food is simple, honest, and made with love. Italian cuisine is not about complication—it’s about using the best ingredients, treating them with respect, and allowing their flavors to shine. It is pure, uncompromised, and deeply connected to our land and our history.

When I moved to Dublin, I carried this tradition with me. I started with a humble market stall, serving lasagne crafted with love, piadine with the finest Italian ingredients, and homemade sweets like tiramisu and pistachio tart. People tasted the authenticity, and they loved it. They weren’t just eating food; they were experiencing a piece of Italy, a story told through every bite.

We want to bring the real soul of Italian cuisine to Dublin with freshly made pasta, delicious regional delicacies, and desserts that tell the story of generations before me. Every dish is a tribute to my family, my home, and the tradition I cherish.

Buongusto is not just a food stall—it’s an invitation to experience Italy as it truly is. No shortcuts, no compromises—just real, honest, heartfelt Italian food. And I can't wait to share it with you.
